Don Shelby is one of the most respected and decorated journalists in the country. A veteran of 55 years of investigative reporting, he later used those skills in the field of climate change, science and the environment — investigating where no reporter had investigated before.

He won the International Radio and Television News Directors first place award for his reporting on Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs). The Society of Professional Journalists awarded him the Distinguished Service Award. He was awarded the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award for reports he aired on the welfare of children. B’nai Brith honored him with “The Great American Traditions Award.” He is a member of the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and served as a director of the board of Investigative Reporters and Editors. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union, and participated in the Nobel Peace Prize Forum on Solutions to Climate Change in Oslo in December of 2018.
